I will take my manifesto about quote of Olive Schreiner “Everything has two sides - the outside that is ridiculous, and the inside that is solemn.” I choose this quote because I agree with this quote. From this quote make me think to the lecture about sacred and profane. From quote of Olive and lecture I have a question about “ What are decide that is ridiculous or solemn, and what are decide that is sacred or profane. In my opinion I think it depended on vision and believe of people.

I found the new about Japanese monk idea to the attracted teenage. First is Kansho Tagai or Mr. Happiness pray by to raping make attraction teenage. He is abbot, He has an idea about pray that has many ways to present, and can apply to use in every period, he use a rap for teenage make fun with pray, and make their found that the religious has fun side and interested in religious. From this style he success for attracted teenage.


And, in Ryohoji temple has an a idea to use a manga (is japanese cartoon) in the temple by add ing cartoon in temple, has a café and girl in cosplay to service, from abbot, he think it is not profane, he want to told people are temple can be a fun place same another place.

From these new show about Japanese monk, try to make new idea to attracted teenage to interesting religious, but from thes, theye have two groups, are accept and not, because the one group think it is profane by changing from the original of religious, and the other group think, it is sacred, because from this activity, it’s a good think and help religious by making attractive to teenage that they are interested in religious more than before.

In my mind, I think their opinion are same as the coin that has two faces, like the quote at first , and choose it’s sacred or profane by vision and belief of each people.

From this my perception I think about relationship between perception and architecture, it is in term of “Form” in architecture, in my mind, form will be good or bad depend on thinking of people same with my perception such as Mandarin Racha Devi hotel, this hotel use design form look like a temple, some people think it is profane and not appropriate, but some people think it is a new way for hotel design.



From all I observe the comment. This activity and building, in group of unacceptable people, a most of all, are sacred in this religious, why people in other religious do not think it is profane? From the question in my opinion I think cause from it is they did not know and sacred in that religious, but in group of people that are believe and sacred in this religious still have some people, think that it is not profane. why?, so I think it is depends on perception of each people, because I believe everything to do has two sides such as good or bad, sacred or profane, beautiful or ugly, etc. So it depend on we look on which side ?

Digital Design

Nowadays, Technology have effect in daily life, it's are part of people life, it's help people create a new thing better than before such as camera, in the part we use film to capture the picture in film, we can't see this picture until wash this film, so we must thinking before shutter because we can't see the picture that time, so it a important for thinker when we photograph, but in this time technology create a digital camera, it use memory card replace film, it better than film by when we photograph we can see the picture that time and can delete the picture and photograph again, it helpful but make people not thinking when photograph before.


A digital design from last lecture, it's develop from the past, in this times designer show the design by drawing, model about form and design, but people can't know about their process, but nowaday technology can create everything in the world, it's help designer show people about the process by 3D animation.but in the otherside people can create design not a process or thinking, because this program can do it.

We can create everything by technology, but we must thinking, if we not thinking, it a technology design not designer design

PSYCHOGEOGRAPHICAL MAP

For my mapping, it's my jouney from Sri Phraya to Jatujak. My perception effect with building and symbol .Fisrt I go to samyan from my home at sri phraya this way I not intend because the way to samyan have a Building easy to know it's samyan such as CHAMCHURI SQUARE and I take a bus to siam, from the way to siam I saw Building around this way I intend about this because this way have a bus station near between its, if I not intend, so I go to wrong station I must wait a bus or walk to home. And when I go to siam I take a BTS to Jatujak, This way I not intend it because BTS go to by highspeed and in the station have a voice to tell you in the station are ?. In Jatujak I must Intend then the other part because the building in Jatujak look like the same and have a many lane (Soi) to walk for shopping, and have a lof of people, it's hard to remember about the way in this place. I can perceive about area space then the other place such as a different of shop,market because this place are factor for my perception, if I not perceive, so I lost the way to back in this area. From my jouney, I think perception are change by factor.

Sacred and Profane

This week we study about sacred and profane. This word are opposite, sacred are mean relating to a god or religion or very important or greatly respected, but profane mean showing a lack of respect for God or holy things or related to ordinary life, not religion or holy things.


I think this word are very hard to understand and explain, but I think I understand about this word but not all.


The word " sacred" I understand it's a something look like holy or high then people such as religion. And the word "profane" mean not respect with holy, such as the dog wear T-shirt Buddha screen on the back, people sit on head budda image and buddha image have sex, it's not suitable for thai people because the buddha mean mental of thai people, so they don't want to see the buddha they are adore take a bad passive.


But some people are not respect about buddha, they see it's not profane, from that I think it's a profane or not are depend on thinking and respect of this people, such as Mandarin Racha Devi hotel, they design hotel look like a temple, some people think it's profane and suitable for do that, but some people think it's a new way to design hotel

EMPTY SPACE

This week we study about empty space. In my opinion empty = nothing, so empty space = nothing in space but it not useless because we can put or create something in this space, from this can make the feeling change. From this I think empty space feeling and space are change by anybody not same everyone.


I mean such as storeroom, at first this room are empty space, but later people put something in this space are make the space have a feeling and effect are different by people and time.

I think empty space not different by anybody but can different by one people, from thinking or style of this people, such as a bed room at first style are europe style but later it's can be asian style or another style follow need or like of people at this time.



The last I think space are change by function of user, such as fist we make the empty room are bedroom, later we change it to storeroom, the empty space are useful space

TECHNOLOGIES AND ARCHITECTURE

Nowaday, technology effect to everyone, every activity in the world. People feel technology are part of their life, such as I forgot my mobile phone or mp3player, I feel this day not normal, but in this day I not want to use its. From this I think people can not live without technology but in the past when people not have technology their can live without it.



In term of architecture, have develop from technology, such as in the past we can show form building by drawing and model, but nowaday technology help by computer software such as 3Dmax, SketchUp , etc. And technology can help we create organic form or strange by new technology, produce, technique to make building.


The last "junk space", from lecture,"Junkspace is political: it depends on the central remove of the critical faculty in the name of comfort and pleasure" and "Junkspace seems an aberration, but it is essence, the main thing... product of the encounter between escalator and air conditioning, conceived in an incubator of sheetrock. "that is definition koolhaas' Junkspace


From my understand it is a space are no unique or style but useful function that we can use it. From this I think more technology can make more junkspace too.

FORM AND PERCEPTION

From my opinion form are feeling by visual and touching, in the world have a many form are creat by nature and human.

In architecture, form are creat by architect,they creat from such as culture, environment,believe,it have a lof of form or style from the past and develop all time, but some style not develop but break out from old style.

Now a day,form or style look very different from the past because form, function , material, how to set up are develpo follow the many idea of people
